team membership api clarification

Hey i just wanted to clarify something about the api. To add users to a team there seems to be two ways of doing it:

  1. assigning it via the user api endpoint
  2. assigning it via the team endpoint

what is the differences between doing it via the two ways ?

I think the only way to add a user to a team is via https://api-reference.pagerduty.com/#!/Teams/put_teams_id_users_user_id
